The world is getting smarter. Why not your dinner? That is the question Adam Goodfriend he was asking people these days as he walked out the gate with his newly rebuilt company.

GoodFriend (formerly Kosher Made Made Simple) was conceived and born during the COVID lockdown. As restaurants closed their doors and people stayed at home, he pulled out a notebook and began jotting down ideas. Looking down at the pen and paper, what he saw staring back was the kosher food company’s need for this pandemic and beyond.

While many other parts of our lives have seen great advances, the way a home cook makes a chicken schnitzel and mashed potatoes is the same as it was 50 years ago or even 100 years ago, said Goodfriend, a member of the Chabad community in Monsey, NY. .

As with any entrepreneurial endeavor, the journey from idea to execution is always uneventful. In the morning Goodfriend reached out to CHYE and Rabbi Joshua Werde who gave advice and answers on many issues. Rabbi Werde gave him a business advisor, Yitzy Geisinsky (of Alacrity Energy and Milano Wigs), who provided additional guidance and support especially with the decision and process of their recent name change. I thank Hashem that I had the knowledge I needed to avail of their services. Yitzy was generous with his time and advice. It really amazes me, he commented, adding that he got the right balance of practical advice, encouragement and support. Shlomo Klein of Fleishigs Magazine and Yakov Yarmov of Albertsons also provided guidance along the way. Key to the decision to rebrand was Chaya Lichtenstein (ChezChaya) and when it came time to take over Goodfriend went with the world’s leading sales and marketing company, Mann Sales Co and Jack Levinson.

And by saying Moshe again Emily Tikotzky: Dinner has never been better. My husband and I wanted to let you know that this is our second week in a row ordering dinner from you, and we have been blown away by the quality of each meal! They all taste great and fresh every night they get better and better! Thank you for making dinner not only delicious, but also exciting with new menus every week and both fun and stressful to prepare!

The demographics that often use this service include households with two working parents, people after having children or recovering from an illness, young families who don’t want leftovers, young couples who have just set up homes, teenagers who like to cook, busy families and more. There is also an option to gift the service with a gift card and since there is no registration requirement it is really a sensible thing to do.

If people want convenience they can always make frozen fish sticks or pizza. While that has its place most people don’t want to do that 5 nights a week. So what we needed to do was to simplify the dinner time routine while increasing the quality at the same time. This is possible because restaurateurs know how to find, store, cut, process food for high quality integrity and taste. They know what to buy. For example we will order bread from one place, fish from another, vegetables from many places, kosher specialties from a different place. It makes sense to us but not to the home cook and especially not for a weeknight dinner. This is a service we provide. At the end of the day you can cook and produce restaurant quality food in your home easily and to your liking.

Customers can choose CHK for meat and poultry. Every week a new menu comes out. Every Sunday afternoon (prime delivery day), customers look forward to receiving the signature yellow box at their doorsteps that promises delicious and healthy treats inside. Not in the NY metro area? No worries they ship all over the country. The order deadline is Tuesday night at 11:45pm and customers receive their order the following Sunday (or Monday depending on delivery location).
